A Level Subject Selection Advice: 2007
This thread is meant to be the definitive thread for all advice pertaining to any queries about A Level subject selection. Much better to keep all data organized rather than litter the whole forum. Looking forward to any questions posted... Mar 30 Omar II
And ppl, heres a very early general advice:
DO NOT TAKE THE ACCOUNTS, BUSINESS, ECO and MATH COMBO!!! Unless you have no other option.
It is boring, unworthy, overly easy, not well regarded, and an insult to your intellectual capabilities. It is much better if u mix up the combination with a subject like History/Sociology, or Physics. Mar 30 Muneeb
Hi! My combination of 'A' Level subjects is Law,Economics and English Literature and I plan to do LLB,in future. Is my subject combination fine? Mar 31 Moosa
Eco and English wid law its very gud
if u have any intrest in English L
well my Advice is do not take Maths and Chem at the same time Specially Maths if u didnt have the backgroud of Add maths Mar 31 Muneeb
Yup! I have never studied Add Maths in O Levels.I just studied Maths in O Levels and I got an A grade in it but I`m not much interested in Maths nor in science subjects such as chemistry, biology, etc. I`m more interested in social sciences and about English Literature,I must say that when I was going to start it,I was not very interested in it but once I started studying it,I found it extremely interesting and now I really love the subject. ACC ECO and Maths in a lvlz is the best combo! With varsality Mar 31 Haseeb
my advice.. no matter if u studied add maths or not in o levels
do take a level mathematics...it is lot easier than o levels and will pay u at some juncture in life. Mar 31 Mohsin Ali
yeah, i'd recommend math too, didnt take Add math O level, got an A at AS at a high percentile so its not VERY difficult, plus it helps build ur concepts for a few topics in physics Mar 31 Muneeb
but the thing is that I don`t really have to get into the field of mathematics or science subjects.I intend to do Law,LLB after my A-Levels so I am not really interested in Maths. Mar 31 Omar II
@ Muneeb
I would definitely recommend History with your combination.
It wouldnt be a bad idea to take Maths up to AS Level also.
