I understand your point buddy tht its an Indian endeavour first of its kind to save the environment.But very few people would buy the product keeping environment in mind.A consumer is always gonna watch out for his profitability,Environment and all concerns are upto the government to look for ( do u really think ppl are gona buy yo bykes jus cos they dun add up to pollution ).Y isn’t government taking any steps to encourage EVs ,simply because according to them its not the right time.There are 30-60 new models lined up to hit the Indian markets within next 3 years, so government can certainly not afford to encourage Evs at this time,moroevr companies like reliance petrochemicals will make it a point tht Evs dun hit the market at this pioint of time .This is clearly evident from the fact tht extra 60k is being imposed by the government on reva in maharashtra.
As far as I have noticed Yo bykes in Mumbai, they are seen in the hands of rich kids using it as a susbstitue for bicycles.In fact this can prove to be more dangerous on road, paving the way for accidents,moreover I dun completely agree with u when u say tht it is meant for ppl of small towns, and it is not as economical as u think,A yo byke costs arnd 30k, in tht too u have a speed limit of less than 25 kmph (chalo tht can be neglected stil) btu what abou the weight carryin capacity its less than 75 kgs..it means its entitled to be single seater or may be a 1 hild and one adult..Now do u think many ppl will really invest 30k for a single seat ride tht too which requires charging.you ve got ct100 as an option for 38k with an avg of 75kmpl,it will ad to the utility too.And atleast teh consumer will be rest assured bou the service centres and all…I dunno about the towns u referring to but as far as Mumbai is concerned its undergoing a serious problem of load shedding since an year..It will be very feasible if government comes up with strong infrastructure like windmills for chargning( vague idea) etc etc. Posted By DESI BABA .
