RESPECT TO BEAUTIFUL NATURE
Whether you have a back yard, an allotment or a local community gardening project, you can do your bit to look after your local wildlife. Here are some ideas.

Feed the birds. The greater the range of foodstuffs you put out for them, the more types of bird you will attract. Birds especially need food in winter when other sources can be scarce.
Attract insects to your garden by placing flat stones on the ground to provide shelter for centipedes and ground beetles, which can help keep plant pests under control. Decaying wood piles can attract different insects and mammals, from beetles to hedgehogs.
Try to avoid using chemicals in your garden. The right insects and wildlife can keep your garden and vegetable patch free from pests. For example, planning Californian poppies and marigolds amongst vegetables can attract aphid-eating insects like ladybirds.
Creating a pond – however small – can attract insects such as dragonflies to breed, and draw frogs and toads.
Plant shrubs and trees that are a good source of nectar and will attract bees and butterflies.
